Brazil's Bauru made with our delightfully smooth pâté.

Bauru

Guilt-free version of the Brazilian classic. Something special and different with the home-made cashew cream cheese.

The Bauru sandwich is a true Brazilian classic. Originally made with layers of beef, ham or chicken slices, steamed cheese, tomatoes and pickles. We stuffed the french roll with Plantcraft pâté and made a thick cheesy cashew cream. So messy and irresistible!

Ingredients

  • 2 french rolls
  • 2 chubs of Plantcraft pâté
  • Cashew cream cheese
  • Pickles
  • 2 tomatoes

For the vegan cashew cream:

  • 1 cup raw cashew nuts
  • 1/2 cup of plant-based milk
  • Pinch of turmeric
  • One clove of garlic
  • 1 tablespoon of nutritional yeast
  • Pinch of salt
  • 50 grams of plant-based cheese, grated

Instructions

Starting with the cashew cream, soak the cashews in hot water for half an hour. Drain and place them into a food processor. Add the garlic, salt, nutritional yeast, cheese and turmeric. Start blending it while slowly pouring the milk into the mix until it reaches a thick creamy consistency.

Heat oven to 200 degrees, slice the french rolls lengthwise and place them in the oven to toast for a few minutes.

Poke the chubs and squeeze the pâté on the bottom half of the roll. Layer it with pickles, pour the cashew cream cheese on top and finish it off with a few slices of tomatoes.

Enjoy!
